In this tip, you will learn one of the major reasons why you gain weight in the first place. If you want to lose weight, then you have to stop storing fat first.

You see, one of the main reasons your body even stores fat in the first place, is because it is storing toxins and excess acids in your fat cells, so as to keep them away from your vital organs.

Your body then holds onto this fat until it gets the alkalinity and any other nutrient it might need to neutralize these toxins, so that they can be safely eliminated.

If you neutralize these toxins first, then your body can burn your body fat for energy, without also burning these toxins.

Foods that make you acidic

Coffee, liquor, sodas, artificial sweeteners, meats, breads, tortillas, ketchup, mayo, mustard, cheese, margarine, milk, sugar, candy, white rice, breakfast cereals, biscuits, cookies, cakes, pies, vinegar, roasted nuts, canned tomatoes, bottled juices, eggs, oats, bananas, dates, table salt, and cooked acid fruits (like lemon, orange, tomatoes,) are some of the foods that will make you acidic.

When you eat foods that make you acidic, and at the same time you are eating a lot of carbohydrates, then that is the magic formula for gaining fat. Some people can really pack on a lot of pounds in a very short time eating this way.

Foods that make you alkaline

Raw carrot juice, raw orange juice, raw leafy green vegetable juice, raw barley grass powder, and raw wheat grass juice, and raw fruits and smoothies made mostly with raw citrus fruits, apples, strawberries, ect.

Also cooked green beans, extra virgin olive oil, raw coconut oil, raw almonds, raw neutral vegetables (like lettuces, carrots, peppers, onions, squash, sprouts), Sea salt, and raw lemon juice, are good examples of foods that will help you to alkalize your body.

Eating more alkaline foods will set your body up to easily let go of the excess body fat it is currently using to store this excess acid and toxins in. This will make it a lot easier for you to lose weight and be comfortable in the process.

Correcting your body ph, and detoxing the fat cells is one of the major things that you will want to do if you want to be successful in losing weight as fast as possible.

Some people have been successful at losing weight by strenuous exercise, but if you have a lot of weight to lose, then it would be a lot healthier for you to lose most of your excess body fat first, by simply changing your diet.

Arthritis – the Fat Connection

Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by inflammation and strain on joints and is aggravated by excess body fats. Dr. Jon T Giles believes that fat can cause interference in functioning of the muscles in our limbs and may be meshed between muscle fibers to reduce muscular quality and produce chemicals that interfere with muscular function. He believes that fat creates this chemical increasing inflammation which leads to rheumatoid arthritis. Dr.Jon T Giles is a rheumatologist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. A typical American diet is full of food that is acidic leading to several problems. Acidity leads to deposit of fat in our body as fat helps reduce acidity. Intake of alkaline foods can help decrease this body fat says another researcher, Dr. Robert O. Young of the Ph Miracle Institute in California.

Dr. Don Colbert and author and a medical doctor, confirms that several patients of his have benefited by an intake of alkaline foods and water and reduced problems associated with painful osteoarthritis and have been able to reduce their intake of medicines for their pain as well. Patients who have acidic bodies benefit from alkaline food as it helps reduce fat and thus inflammation also decreases due to this reduction in fatty deposits.

Jill Price is from Santa Clarita, California. She benefited by turning vegan, eliminating foods like dairy, eggs, and butter from her regular diet. She also started exercising, and because of these changes, lost 100 pounds in less than a year. Vegan diets are generally alkaline in nature if junk food is not made part of the diet.

How to Conquer Your Fear of Speaking – 3 Causes and 3 Choices

As professionals, we’re frequently called upon to give both formal and informal presentations – whether to customers, colleagues, bosses and even board members. Some of us are trained, readily prepared, and eagerly welcome or create the opportunity to inform, demonstrate, persuade, inspire and motivate. Others of us run, shirk and when absolutely necessary - squeak by. And many of us are scared to death, even though we may not show it. In fact, statistics show that nearly 75% of the population has a fear of speaking. It’s often said that when it comes to common fears, the fear of speaking tops the list right up there with fear of snakes, spiders and death itself. As Jerry Seinfeld said, “The average person at a funeral would rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.”
While certainly common, the fear of speaking can be devastating – not only to careers, but to relationships. Communication is the crucial bridge that connects people and when it’s compromised by fear, the connection is limited, threatened and easily broken.
The extent of this fear runs along a continuum from normal and mild to severe and debilitating. Most everyone feels a bit nervous when getting up in front of audience or making an important presentation even if it’s only to a few people – if those people can impact the speaker’s success. And this slight nervousness is easily managed and overcome once the presentation gets underway – especially when the speaker is well prepared with a point and a purpose. But towards the severe end of the continuum, the anxiety can be overwhelming and the physical manifestations can be significant – including impact on blood pressure, heart rate, muscle weakness, flushed skin, sweaty hands and more.
Much has been written about the fear of speaking. And various practitioners, ranging from self-proclaimed experts to highly trained professionals, offer methods and remedies to help speakers overcome it. From an overview perspective, there are three primary causes – any one of which (or in combination) that lead to the fear of speaking.
The first type of cause is an anxiety disorder – leading to a phobia. A phobia is defined as an irrational, intense fear of an object or situation that poses little or no actual danger. At first glance, a phobia may seem similar to a normal fear. It is the degree to which a person is affected that determines whether that fear has become a phobia. The fear of speaking is a type of social phobia – a fear of being embarrassed in public. The key to both understanding and treating a phobia is recognizing that while the fear and anxiety can be intense and “real”, there is little or no actual danger. There is nothing in the situation that can actually harm the person who is experiencing the anxiety. There is no snake that will bite, no ladder that will fall, no gun that will shoot, etc. The danger is not real – only imagined. Getting up in front of an audience, for a person who has a fear of speaking is not imaginary. What is imaginary is the danger that the speaker believes lurks in the room. There is no real danger – at least nothing that the speaker couldn’t be trained to handle.
The second type of cause is faulty beliefs. The person who has a fear of speaking may believe that they are incapable or not good enough. These beliefs can often be traced back to situations in their past where their parents treated them in ways that made them doubt themselves and feel incapable. For example, imagine the impact on a young child who repeatedly hears, “What’s the matter with you?” or “How many times have I told you?” Coupled with a “yelling” tone of voice, these messages can lead to beliefs that shape a child’s self-esteem and impact the choices they make when trying to cope with life’s challenges. Consider the impact that a belief of “I’m not good enough” could have on a speaker as he faces a hostile audience. Certainly, fear and anxiety are easy to understand in light of these kinds of beliefs.
The third type of cause is competence. In many cases the difference between an average and an exceptional speaker is training. Effective speaking, while a “gift” and an art for some, comes down to learning, experience and feedback for most. Learning to buiild and deliver a compelling presentation requires instruction, guidance and time. It’s only natural that less experienced speakers will feel more anxious than accomplished speakers.
Certainly these three types of causes may occur in any combination. An inexperienced speaker who has irrational fears and faulty beliefs is going to have much more trouble in front of people than a speaker who suffers from only one of the three conditions.
But there is hope. Any of these causal conditions can be changed – and if not totally, at least to some degree. Here’s how.
Phobias can be managed through certain forms of therapy and medication. One approach that has been effective for many people with a fear of speaking is called Virtual Reality Training. Using this method, the individual is exposed to the feared situation over and again in the absence of any real danger. To manage the fear of speaking, the person faces, talks to and gives presentations to a virtual audience. The trained practitioner controls the reactions of the virtual audience using specialized computer software. With repeated exposure, the fear and anxiety diminish helping the person face real audiences with more comfort and confidence. When faulty beliefs are the cause, the beliefs can be targeted and essentially replaced with new and more healthy beliefs. This approach is based on the notion that beliefs are just that – beliefs. You can’t see them, you can’t feel them, and you can’t show them to anyone else. They exist only in your head. The objective is to get them out of your head so they don’t bother you anymore and then to replace them with healthy beliefs that are based in reality. Alternative Medicine – is it Right for You?

In the last few decades Alternative medicine has matured and is no longer known as something that has been offered by freaks and con men. But what is alternative medicine and how would you define it as there are so many aspects and each seems to want to grab the limelight in different categories?

To write a paragraph on each of the different types of alternative medicine I would be sat at my office desk for years only to find that when I thought I had finished new lines of interest would appear. But knowing which type of alternative cure you should go for is difficult, and the only sure way a patient will know is by trying different ones themselves.

As the world tends to get smaller through modern travel and with the age of the computer more and more local alternative medicines get known. Some may have been round for years like that of Lepidium Meyenii (Macca) from Peru that helps women in their menopause time of life.

Originally this would be used for strength and fertility and only in the last few decades has it been used as an alternative medicine.

Some natural things like honey are nature’s goodness and must never be overlooked. Start taking a tablespoon full of local honey twice a day and it will help with allergies like that of hay fever, asthma and eczema. Carrot juice is another natural product, and as carrots are relatively cheap it is something you can experiment yourself without breaking the bank especially when you look at some of the high prices being charged by some health companies.

Then you might like to look at Homeopathic cures which have been used for centuries or maybe you would rather go down the route of the Supergreens as there are quite a few on the market to go for. These Supergreens do mean that you have to change your diet quite drastically but they are said to work and there are many people that swear by them.

To sum up about alternative medicine I think that there are so many different types it is difficult to know what to go for but on reading about and hearing from different people it is always worth while taking the time to find out more. After all your health is important, and without it you can be doomed to a life of misery.
