It is really very hard when you are on the brink of your illness, especially if you have a cancer. Alkaline diet helps us attain a high pH and this pH brings up alkaline tissues. Alkaline tissues are said to be 20 times more aerobic than acid tissues. Meaning, more oxygen are being generated with an alkaline body condition. And this is what it needs to prevent cancer. Hence, we must consider taking in more of alkaline foods to alkalize our body. Foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables are really helpful to bring back healthy cells. We, The Detox Diet Divas, drink an abundance of water. Yes, many Divas are consuming over a gallon of water a day!

Did you know the human body is 70 percent water?! Yes, on average that's about 10-13 gallons of water in your body. And the condition and supply of that water is vitally important. When water is coming in and operating effortlessly as we Divas' like - then chances are you are on top of the world. When your body is fully hydrated you radiate with brilliance and mental clarity and your weight is right where it should be - you are all lined up!

But you can't just drink any ol'water...

The water must be purified and alkalized. That's right, chemicals (like chlorine) and bacteria, and impurities must be extracted. Your drinking water must have a pH over 7.3. And, please Divas don't be fooled by bottled water. Very few actually fit the bill.

So, you may say, I get the purification idea, but why alkalize and how do I alkalize?

We alkalize because most people consume too many foods and drinks that are vastly acidic, coffee, meat, and dairy to name a few. We call this the Standard American Diet (SAD). This type of consumption (SAD) equates to a highly acidic body.

Here's the deal: When the body, in its infinite wisdom, attempts to ensure pH balance, it takes excess acid and stores it in fat cells! This is why your drinking water could be making you fat. A gallon a day is not required for all Divas. Some need less and yes, some need more. The best way to calculate how much you should be drinking is by using this simple formula. Drink a liter of pure, alkalized water per 30 lbs of body weight. Therefore, if you weight 120 lbs, you should have 4 liters of water per day.

It is said that over 75 percent of Americans are dehydrated. The average person drinks about 1 liter a day and often times that includes the acidic liquids like coffee, and sodas. And here 's the kicker. If you don't drink enough water you'll get fat! Here's why: first of all, dehydration slows the metabolism. Even mild dehydration slows the metabolism by 3 percent. Secondly, many people confuse the body's thirst desire for hunger. And lastly, if you don't drink enough water, you'll RETAIN water, yes, that ghastly...Bloating!

Alkaline Diet Recipes – Alkalize Your Body With Your Juice, Soup, Snack and Dinner

One thing we should admit is that most people love to eat foods that are high in seasonings. And sometimes these foods can be gotten from foods which are mostly acidic. Well, alkaline diet recipes will be the solution to preventing acid foods.

There can be many ways on how to prepare recipes that will suit our tastes. This can also be done with the fruits and vegetables that are alkaline foods.

You can easily prepare alkaline foods anytime. And here are the suggestions for alkaline juice, soup, snack and dinner.

• Alkaline Juice

This recipe is great for breakfast because it will boost your energy level. It awakens your digestive system while providing nutrition to your body.

You can mix cucumber, celery, spinach, lettuce leaves and any other green leafy vegetables. You can also use parsley and fresh alfalfa as optional boosters. Juice them together and mix 50/50 with distilled water. You can add optional lemon juice. You can also add prime pH to enhance the alkalinity of the juice even more.

• Alkaline Soup

This soup is very advisable while you are on a detox. This recipe contains avocado which is high in EFAs. It also contains cucumber which is well known for its cleansing properties. You can use herbs and spices, lemon and lime.

You will blend the avocado and stock it to form a light paste. After that, you will add spring onions, green or red pepper, cucumber, spinach and garlic. Add Bragg Liquid Aminos, light vegetable Boullion (yeast free) and juice of lemon or lime.

• Alkaline Dinner

For dinner, Detox Lime-Chili Stir 'Fry' is one of the likable alkaline diet recipes. The ingredients are Pak-Choi, carrots, mange-tout/sugar snap peas, beansprouts, broccoli, cabbage (red or green), fresh lime juice, chilli, coriander and vegetable boullion and brown basmati rice/wild rice.

The first thing you should do is to pulp the coriander with the mortar and pestle. And then add chilli and lime juice to make a sauce. Set it aside. And then, you will chop all the vegetables finely. After this you will steam them but do not fully cook so as not to lose the nutrients.

Now, you will cover the cooked stuff over the rice and then put the sauce.

It is so simple yet delicious. You can also steam fry the vegetable in a vegetable boullion stock if you do not have a steamer. If you are into seafood, you can also add prawns.

The amount of each ingredient is dependent upon your choice.

• Alkaline Snack

The alkaline recipe that will surely attract your taste is an asparagus dressed with lemon juice.

The ingredients are asparagus stems (bend towards the end and let them snap naturally), spring onions, melted (avocado) butter, grated lemon peel of half a lemon, fresh lemon juice of a whole lemon and fresh thyme.

Steam the spring onion and asparagus but avoid overcooking. Then mix the avocado butter, lemon juice, thyme and lemon rind to make the dressing. Add some cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil to neutralize the lemon juice a little. Now, stack the spring onion and asparagus and then dress.

How to Love Your Children Unconditionally

It is important to note that you build and create your children?s self-esteem and self image. The words and actions you choose in interacting with them will have long lasting effects on them for the rest of their lives. This may seem like a no brainer, but the problem that arises is what parents say when they are angry, tired, stressed, and when their child is not listening or obeying. The way you treat your children and the words you use with them matter. Even the things you think about your children matter too, so try to think positive things about them, otherwise they will feel and most likely become the very things you are thinking about. This is called the self-fulfilling prophecy because although the original thought or prophecy may have been false, a child may start to believe it as true, so then their behaviors and reactions ultimately live up to what was expected of him or her. You have a great influence over the way your children feel about themselves.

?Conditioning? is what happens when an individual is exposed to certain things, and then in turn acts or feels a certain way because of what they were repeatedly exposed to. For example, if your parents threatened or said they didn?t love you, or said that they hated you, called you names or put you down when they were angry, you may unconsciously find yourself doing this when you are upset. Perhaps you grew up and vowed never to say those things to your kids or to other people, but do you say them to yourself?

The point is, although children are resilient, when they grow up in a home where they are verbally abused and put down, there will be profound negative effects. Sometimes this comes in the form of self-hate, which can then turn into hate and anger towards others. Remember the saying. You can?t love anyone else until you love yourself. Be mindful of what you say to your children! If you give them unconditional love and acceptance, they will grow and flourish, learning to love themselves and to be able to have faith and trust in others around them--especially you. By supporting your children in this way they will learn that they can trust in you and they will more likely come to you when they have a problem. All kids struggle with issues with peers at one time or another. It is important that you be there for your child in a supportive and nonjudgmental manner. Don?t you remember what it was like to be a child or teen and how you felt at times like nobody in the world understood you--especially your parents? Didn?t you hate that feeling? Some of the things that children struggle with may seem very trivial, but to them it is their whole world, and their feelings need to be respected. Unfortunately most of what children know about sex is by what the media tells them (i.e. television, magazines, internet), by what their friends tell them, and by their own experiences. It may seem easy enough to just say no sex until you?re married, and while this is a great idea and hope to have for your child, the reality is that many children become sexually active well before marriage. But the truth is, the more you talk with them--really talk with them--about the ins and outs of sex, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, attachment and heartache, they may be less likely to engage in it. Or if they do, they will make better choices about it. Do not confuse this with having the sole role of friend to your child, because although you do need to be your child?s friend, your role as parent needs to come first. This is also true for discussions about drugs. You need to talk with your children about drugs, and please don?t wait until it is too late. Teach them while they are young, talk to them about what happens to people when they become addicted to drugs, and talk to them about peer pressure. Give them tools and ideas for how to say no. And be aware of what your children are doing, pay attention to their moods and behavior, and if you learn they are doing drugs, get help. Put your foot down, set limits. It is not okay for your child or teen to be using drugs or alcohol--period. And with this be careful what you are modeling for them. If you don?t want them to drink and smoke, it would be wise not to partake in these activities either. Otherwise you will be what your children will correctly call a hypocrite--and nobody wants to listen to a hypocrite. The sad thing is that your words don?t mean much if your actions are saying something else. What you teach your children now will help them to be healthy functioning adults when they grow up.
